Participating in a community-based correction sanction

Problem: For the most part, yes, as a public citizen, I feel safe with convicted felons participating in a community-based correction sanction rather than being locked up for a specific time. The reason I feel this way is because some felons take part in the programs, etc. while in prison, and can change. So, for the convicted felons who have changed their ways and have become better people, I do think they deserve another chance and deserve to participate in a community-based correction sanction rather than being in prison for a length of time. Therefore, these individuals can still finish their sentence while being part of society and being around their loved ones.  Share your personal thoughts on whether community-based corrections jeopardizes the safety and security of the general public. If you are in favor of community-based corrections, would you object to a felon living next door to you? If not, what alternatives would you suggest to facilitate reintegration?
