Part-1
1. Suppose you want to demonstrate an ERD to someone who has never seen one. Provide a scenario from everyday life that lends itself to an ERD (not from the text!)
Research the steps necessary to create an ERD and summarize them as if you were explaining them to someone.
Utilizing those steps, create an ERD that reflects your example.
In your responses to other students' postings, comment on whether or not you understood the explanation, and whether or not the drawing accurately reflects the example.
2. Discuss the ethical issues to consider when planning a database. For example, should personal data, such as medical information be stored in the same DBMS that manages employee salary and benefits data?
Find sources that support your discussion and include the ideas in your post.
Part-2
1. What is a DBMS? Include in your response a description of the components of a DBMS.
2. What are entity-relationship diagrams, and how are they used? Include a description of the symbols used for entities, relationships and cardinality.
3. What is data warehousing and data mining? Are the terms related?
