Packaging and storage of oil
Rancidity can cause the oil to deteriorate and develop off-flavors during storage. Using clean, dry containers, which exclude light and heat, and prevent contact with metals such as iron or copper, may prevent this. Sealed glass or plastic bottles are adequate packaging materials. The containers should be properly dried after cleaning to remove all traces of water. If the oil is packaged adequately and kept away from heat and sunlight, the shelf-life can be expected to be 6-12 months.
