Outline three nursing responsibilities in relation to the care of oxygen equipment
Care must be taken with oxygen equipment used in the home or hospital. The oxygen system should be kept clean and dust-free. Cylinders should be kept in carts, or have collars for safe storage. If not stored in a cart, smaller canisters may be laid on the floor. the responsibly of the nurse is to make sure that the equipment is stored correctly and that it is cleaned regularly and to check that oxygen tanks are kept in a well ventilated room.
