2. Group Assignment & On-line participation - students are expected to
a) compose a comment on the discussion board referring their peers to a recent case, news report or commentary on a recent topic and;
b) Compose an analytical extension question and post to the discussion board, demonstrating they have understood the chapter readings and have posed a question worthy of class discussion during the lecture session. They are graded on the quality of the question, as outlined below:
-Understanding of chapter readings
-Important extension of inquiry BEYOND those readings
-Clear and simple question structure
GROUP ASSIGNMENT - VIDEO PRESENTATION AND PAPER
Students are to group themselves to a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 students per group
Research on two recent Australian cases (not more than 10 years old) involving consumer protection laws.
Write a report outlining the following:
Case introduction
Outline the Trade Practices Act / Australian Competition and Consumer Act have been breached and explain why they were breached
Discuss and critically ANALYSE the court/tribunal decision and the reason for the decision
Video Presentation - 5 minute video presentation for each case - we expect each student member to participate in the presentation - email video or provide in USB - ensure you provide information of the speakers in the video presentation
Maximum word limit for paper - 2,000 words
Proper referencing in accordance with school regulations (HARVARD).
