Outline the process of policy development from the inception

Assignment Task: What's a good feedback for this discussion post?

Outline the process of policy development from the inception of an idea to the initial implementation of the policy, listing the individual steps along the way and the impact of various decision-makers who may have a role in the development of the policy.

To begin with, a social policy is essentially a set of rules, values, laws, and initiatives that influence the conditions of living that are favorable to the welfare of people Burger, W. R. (2017). The stages in implementing a social policy include:

Identify unmet needs

Initiating social policy means informing and educating others by making them aware of the situation.

Create or establish this step means now it's time to come up with a solution so that needs are being met.

Implement the policy: The policy has already been created and set in place.

Establishing the policy which is the last step which requires to make sure that the policy is being helpful and or what changes might still need to be added to make the policy better.

Identify the impact of the concepts of funding, interpretation, and implementation on the effectiveness of social policy.

Funding: Our textbook states It is almost a given that the availability of funds influences the establishment and implementation of social policies, as well as the extent to which they are carried out Burger, W. R. (2017). Without any sort of funding, no policy would be able to be implemented, or very little funding could lead to an unsuccessful policy.

Interpretation: It's crucial that everyone understands the policy and its goals in order for it to be implemented as effectively as possible. If the goals of a policy aren't understood, it sets the policy up to fail or at least not go as expected.

Implementation: This is how a policy becomes effective so its important that as a human survice professional we are trained in order to have a successful implementation. If we aren't trained enough therefore the policy won't be successful. In addition to raising the likelihood that programs will be implemented successfully, enhanced competency and training also give employees more skills and credibility when it comes to determining the needs of the public, creating new social policies, or enhancing existing ones Burger, W. R. (2017).

What are the components of a successful policy to address your definition of poverty?

Poverty is defined as a specific minimum standard of wealth or income, regardless of the number of individuals who meet or exceed the requirements. The elements of an effective policy to combat poverty would include looking for services that could be of assistance based on the location of your clients; different places have different ideas about what we can do to help. These services would include food, housing, financial assistance, and so on. To properly meet the needs, you would need to determine the number of people living in the home and what income they are bringing into the home. In my opinion, with the cost of living on the rise, employment should have to pay to match that. There are many people working a full time job or working several jobs and still unable to meet all of their necessities.
