Tsunamis can be incredibly devastating natural disasters for a number of reasons, including their intense power and the often sudden and unexpected nature of their occurrences. Many regions of the world are simply unprepared for when these natural disasters strike, unaware of some simple preparations that can help limit the impact they can make.
Your task is to prepare a tsunami disaster planning guide to assist citizens in their understanding of and preparations for a tsunami disaster.
Your instructional guide can be in a format of your choosing, including a brochure, newsletter, presentation, video, or podcast. Please include relevant images to help illustrate your instructional guide and increase its effectiveness and impact. This will be your third of five components that will make up your Semester 2 Final Project grade.
You will be graded according to the following criteria:
Logical and coherent informational guide backed by supporting evidence
Clear description of a tsunami, including how it are formed and when and where it is likely to occur
Explanation of the devastating impact tsunamis can have on both the environment and human populations, including where tsunamis can cause the greatest destruction and why
Clear instructional steps for how to prepare for a tsunami, for both citizens and government agencies
Outline of specific strategies that can help citizens survive and recover from a tsunami
