Problem 1) What approach would you take if asked to re-evaluate your organization's current sourcing strategy? What factors would you consider and how would you prioritize them? What impact does the decision about where and how much inventory of raw materials to procure have on your analysis?
Problem 2) Compare your own organization's sourcing strategy with that of a competitor who has taken a different approach. Hypothesize why you should chose a different strategy. Does either or both support their organizations' vision and competitive advantage? How do these strategies relate to the global nature of today's marketplace?
