Organizational knowledge is individual knowledge paired with that of other individuals in an organization. Organizational knowledge is the type of company asset to which no value can be named. When individuals pool their knowledge within an organization, that knowledge can give the organization advantages over others in the same field. There are three (3) strategies for building an organization’s knowledge base. First would be subscribing access to all relevant external databases. There are various marketing research organizations which publishes reports and maintain databases. If the organization purchases the enterprise licenses to be able to use such databases of relevant fields, it can greatly increase knowledge base. Secondly, by using company intranet to share and collaborate learnings or teachings is a very efficient tool of organisational learning and it is also re-using organisational experience. Lastly is hiring subject matter experts, conducting sessions and building inhouse talent management team to reseach and invent/discovering insights and deliver to targeted teams.
