Organisation Development - Improving Productivity
The objectives of organisation development are to change systems, culture and behaviour in order to improve organisational effectiveness. To achieve this, it links organisational aspects of behavioural sciences with human resource development. Two key points are attacked by the technique: inefficiency caused by lack of employee interest and unhappiness caused by lack of organisational integration. By being able to reconcile both the interests of the individual and the organisation, organisation development aims to improve output. This implies that the technique is in many ways a consensus management tool, helping management and workers participate in improvement.
