Assignment task:
Does the conclusion offer well-stated (but succinct) reasoning why your position is helpful to everyone-or even a possible compromise?
People in both positions feel the opposition is being selfish and unreasonable. Should America continue to incur the financial cost of lengthy political debates and court cases in order to oppose or support the student loan forgiveness plan? In logic, the phrase genetic fallacy addresses the notion of condemning an idea solely based on the origin of the idea. Should the political party affiliation be a factor in determining whether or not to support a plan that impacts millions of citizens? The Biden student loan forgiveness option should be viewed through the logical perspective showing the possible advantages or disadvantages that this plan could generate for all American citizens. A reasonable middle ground between the two opposing sides could be to allow every citizen eligible to cast a vote the opportunity to select or reject the forgiveness plan. Allowing citizens to vote could eliminate any additional political debating.
Americans go to college with the hope of obtaining a degree and accompanying skills to financially succeed. However, the burden of excess student loans can make it difficult to become financially successful. Cancelling even partial student loan debt could help borrowers reach their American Dream. While the forgiveness plan may not solve every issue connected with higher education, it could alleviate some financial pressure for numerous student loan borrowers.
