Opportunity to synthesize course content

THE ASSIGNMENT:

Choose a popular singer, songwriter, performer, or band. Place this artist in a different historical context. Then, maintain the essence of the performeras identity, and restyle, remarket, and redesign both their IMAGE AND SOUND to make them popular, influential, and fashionablea mongst the anachronistic audience.

1. You may choose any date for your performer, just as long as itas AT LEAST 30 YEARS BEFORE OR AFTER THE HEIGHT OF THEIR POPULARITY. (For example, 1955 Elvis would work if he were reset in any year between 1845-aa1925 OR 1985-aa2014).

2. Your presentation may be in the format of your choice: video, powerpoint, presi, documentary, portfolio, storyboard, sales pitch, etc., etc.

3. You must explain who your new target audience is (age, location, demographic).

4. You MUST rework both the performersa look AND sound.

5. You may add performers to the original band or take band members away.

6. Include images of the new look (Choose the format that works best for you.

You maydecide to sketch something entirely new, or you may also decide to create a collage, or use fashion plates or photographs from magazines, etc.).

7. Include at least 2 audio clips. (For example, if you decide to set Justin Bieber in 1955 and you think that he needs to play with an original Gibson Les Paul electric guitar to be cool, describe that sound and provide an audio clip that illustrates it).
