One complication for workers making claims for compensation due to illness caused by asbestos is that if an individual worked for more than one company where they may have been exposed to asbestos, then they can not claim damages from any of them. Is it moral for institutions to actively pursue this point to the detriment of individual claimants? (i.e. to use the law to block what is otherwise a reasonable claim reflecting real harm done).
