In the reading for this module, we learned about the first leadership practice: Model the Way. Before posting to this discussion, make sure that you have updated the "Model the Way" column in your Leadership Development Action Plan document to show how you will use the concepts you have learned to improve each of the leadership areas you identified in Module One.
Once you have updated your leadership development action plan, respond to the following:
• How do your ethics and values influence how you model the way in your professional and personal life?
• How do these concepts impact your decision-making practices?
• Finally, a leader needs to be familiar with multiple approaches to leading people in an organization. Becoming familiar with various theories of leadership is an effective way to diversify your approach to organizational leadership. Some of the resources provided in this module explain the three theories of leadership (transformational leadership, authentic leadership, and servant leadership). Leaders sometimes find themselves in situations where their value system or moral compass is challenged and where they do not necessarily agree with the organization's mission or vision for a specific initiative. If you were to find yourself in this situation, how would you go about modeling the way as an authentic, servant, or transformational leader?
