On July 1, Community Hospital expanded the number of patient beds from 156 to 200. Use the following information to determine the occupancy rate for the total year (non-leap year). Calculate the answer to one decimal and put a % sign after the number with no space (i.e. 33.3%).
Months Service Days Bed Count
January - June 15672 156
July - December 25876 200
So what I did initailly was added both the service days together and the bed counts together. But then I also multiplied what i got for the bed counts by 365 because there are 365 days in a year. I Tool the sum of the Services days and divided that by the total bed counts and then multiplied that answer by 100. But I got the question wrong. Where was my mistake. What Im confused about is the correct total bed count that I should be using.
