Part A consists of three sections - primary research, a literature review, an action plan.
1) Primary research - finding out about yourself and the impact of your communication style (800 - 1,200 words)
o Complete specific online exercises, in class exercises/quizzes. Record the results.
o Obtain feedback from others to identify and learn more about elements of your communication style that you need/could improve.
o Report the key findings about yourself as a communicator, identifying the areas that need some work
2) Literature review - Secondary research - (1,000 - 1,500 words)
o Read about relevant skills/ theories on the topic/areas you want and need to improve.
o Write a review of what you have read. Relate what you have read to you as a communicator.
3) Action plan
o From ideas in the Literature Review, lectures, workshops and MOODLE, create a detailed weekly action plan so you can work on and practise your specific interpersonal skills and knowledge in key contexts. NOTE: The action plan is for the semester or longer.
