Nucleic Acids - Biomolecules
In every living molecule there are available in nucleo-proteins that are made up of proteins and natural polymers of great biological significance known as nucleic acids.
Two kinds of nucleic acids are found in biological structure, these are as follow:
a. Ribonucleic acid (RNA) and
b. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
The nucleic acid was very firstly isolated by Friedrich Miescher in the year 1868 from the nuclei of pus cells and was known as nuclein. The term nuclein was offered by Altman.
