Normal or General Diet
This diet is planned to be consistent with the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) of nutrients and is based on the food groups. It is usually based on cyclic menus planned according to the region, type of hospital and clientele. Nutritional adequacy depends on the patient's selection of food, as well as, the patient's intake of =food. It is the responsibility of the clinical dietitian to monitor food selection and food intake to ensure adequate nutritional intake.
