Write a 2-3 page essay on the following Topic:
You are The director for a new staging of this classic fairytale (The one you re-read). Describe in vivid detail your duties as the director.
A. overall director’s vision-choose a metaphor that will be an overall, unifying visual theme for your production.
B. staging/style-realism? non-realism? What is the style and how would you stage the tale? WHY? Describe in detail your decisions and reasons.
C. casting-who would you cast in the roles if you could have anyone you wanted AND WHY would you cast them?
D. Design concept-costumes, sets, lights-what do you see for these elements in keeping with your overall vision/metaphor for the play and why?

E. Rehearsal process-how would you go about rehearsing this play? Would you concentrate more on characterizations or stage movement? WHY? Is your vision a more physical telling of the tale rather than thematic?
