Multiplexed Address/ Data Bus

Pins AD₇ - AD) are used for multiplexed address data bus. This bus is bidirectional  input output  and  serves two  purpose. Initially the bus  is used  as lower order  address bus later  it is used as data bus. Means these lines are time shared  and called  multiplexed  bus.  Separating lower  order  address bus (A₇- A₀) and data bus (D₇-D₀)  using a Iatch  is known  as de multiplexing  address  data bus  de multiplexing  is explained later in this chapter.
