Most managers have a boss. Few people are as important to the success of a manager as the boss. While management books and courses give plenty of advice on how to manage subordinates, few even mention managing the boss. Few employees believe that the boss can be managed at all. They complain about the boss but do little to manage him (or her). Yet managing the boss is fairly simple – often simpler than managing subordinates.
