Scenario
Morris Wildlife Services deals with the humane removal of wildlife from places it does not belong (such as removing bats from attics and trapping coyotes for release in more suitable habitat). The company does not have a website and has hired you to build one. The company would like to include some educational materials, company history, a list of prices, and other information on its website, so you will have to gather some information from existing brochures as well as do new research.
Use the Scenario above for both parts!
Part 1: Gantt Chart
Develop a Gantt Chart using Microsoft Project for your given scenario:
- List at least 12 important tasks.
- Include the duration in days, and beginning sept.9 to Sept. 15.and ending dates. The project may extend many days, weeks, or months depending on what you need to do for your client, but indicate the first day of the project as the first day of this unit. In the bar chart, show the daily view.
- Show dependencies. You can use the Predecessors column and/or click-and-drag from one bar to another to produce arrows in the bar chart.
- Include resources, using job roles. For example: graphic designer, tester, etc. Make good use of your team's time by ensuring no one is idle for too long.
- Stand-alone tasks - which are not related to the beginning or completion of another task
Part 2: Project Log
After doing some online research, develop your own project log in table form that would assist you in documenting progress with the project you chose for part 1 of this Assignment.
- Include column headings to indicate schedule, tasks and people, issues noted, and other important items. There should be at least five columns.
- Fill in at least three rows with information, as if you were actually in project production.
- Ensure that your Excel file would print so that every completed row shows on the same page.
- Freeze the top row (your column headers).
- Use color or style to make your table look professional.
Take the time to view both video tutorials this week (at the Assignment page), as the technical aspect of each part of the Assignment will be explained.
