Aim
To work and gain hands-on experience with
- Renewable energy system
- Modeling and design of renewable energy
Objective
- To model and design renewable energy system
- To analyze a practical case study using solar PV system
General Instructions:
1. Students must come prepared with all procedures including safety rules to be followed to carry out each experiment.
2. Students must bring the log sheet and laboratory manual during each laboratory session.
3. Each student is required to complete/submit the lab report in time with all calculations, graphs, results and discussion, inference of experiment before proceeding to the next.
4. No excuse for late coming and late submission of lab reports.
Task 1:
Carryout and submit a report on a comparative study of the various Renewable Energy System Costing: Biomass, Wind, Solar, Tidal and Geothermal. Suggest the most cost effective Renewable Energy Technology to provide power solution for a small community, assuming the availability of all the renewable energy schemes in the small community (Group of three students).
Task 2:
Develop a prototype model and submit a report on a mobile traffic light system, using an intelligent adjustable solar panel with maximum sun tracking, to proffer solution to the constant morning rush hour traffic at the student car park of Caledonian College of Engineering Al Hail Campus (Group of three students).
Task 3:
Develop a prototype model and submit a report Biomass Single Digester Plant for 3 Families, with 10 Cows in Barka Community, Oman (Group of three students).
