Utilities record the values measured through these meters to provide an invoice for the electricity. At present, energy meters based on electromagnetic technology and static meters are being used the distribution network. Single phase meters are being used for most of the domestic and some commercial consumers, while 3-phase meters are being used for industrial, agricultural and large commercial consumers.
