Megaloblastic Anaemia 

Megaloblastic anaemia refers to the abnormal development  of red cells i.e. megaloblasts in the bone marrow. 

Etiology 

It is due to lack of folic acid and/or vitamin B12  in the diet. The other associated factor are, protein deficiency  states, chronic or recurrent diarrhoea, malabsorption syndrome, chronic hepatic disease, anticonvulscent drugs and hemolytic anaemias.
