Medication administration for client-prader-willi syndrome

Assignment Task:

Simulation Scenario: Medication Administration for a Client with Prader-Willi Syndrome, Behavioral Challenges, Sleep Apnea, and Food-Related Issues

A residential care facility where a DSW must administer medication to a 15-year-old client with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS).

Setting:

You are caring for Jake, a 15-year-old client with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), who also has behavioral challenges, sleep apnea, and allergies to broccoli, chocolate, and strawberries. Due to his condition, Jake has an obsession with food and struggles with defiance, particularly regarding taking medication without food. He has learned that medications can sometimes be taken with food and has become defiant about taking his medication without a meal or snack. Jake also attempts to take more medication than prescribed, believing this will give him access to more food. Your goal is to safely administer the medication while managing his defiance, understanding of food rules, and preventing medication misuse.  Need Assignment Help?
