Objective:
This module is aimed to equip students with the knowledge and capabilities to work within or lead a project team.
Learning Outcomes:
a) Define the aim and objectives of a project, and explain how to build and develop a project team within an organisation.
b) Assess the viability of a project, and design a system for project financial management and budgetary control.
c) Identify uncertainties and risks of a project, assess the impact and probability of their occurrence, and define strategies for controlling them.
d) Explain the need for good contract practice, define a contract strategy, and outline the legal and operational principles of contracts.
e) Plan and control activities and resources in the execution of a project. Monitor progress of the project.
f) Define an evaluation framework for a project and critically appraise the various project management techniques and principles from a practical perspective.
Problem I
Discuss FOUR categories of skills that should be considered in the selection of a project manager. (Meredith and Mantel, 2010).

Explain in detail the PM's responsibilities toward the project team members. (Meredith and Mantel, 2010).
Problem III
Describe the project goals that most important during the project life cycle stages. (Meredith and Mantel, 2010).
Problem IV
Project managers must be generalists rather than specialists. Yet, team members need to have more specialized and have technical skills. Can a generalist manage a team of specialists effectively? (Meredith and Mantel, 2010).
