Mcdonalds does team up with other companies whether it be

McDonalds does team up with other companies whether it be Disney, Pixar, etc. to market their movies by including toys from popular new release films in the Happy Meal. This has been done since I was a child many, many years ago and it is tremendously effective and a win-win situation both for McDonalds and the movie studios. McDonalds increases sales and the movie producers benefit from increased "buzz" for their films. However, in the case of San Francisco the relationship between McDonalds and movie producers was not really the issue. The leaders in San Francisco saw the toy as "bait" on the part of McDonalds to lure children to eat what they deemed unhealthy food. We have now seen other cities seek to regulate other food items (NYC and their soda ban comes to mind). In a highly energized political climate with a good portion of the country experiencing an "Anti-government" spirit, when do you feel people say enough is enough. Have we become so politically correct that Happy Meal regulations are just to be expected? I suppose my bigger question is... where did common sense go?
