Scenario
Make contact with an organisation that makes use of information technologies and systems (but not University of Salford or The Manchester College). Arrange to speak with someone in the organisation. Find out what information systems they have, what they use them for, when they were brought in, the impact they have had upon the organisation, any future plans they have for their information systems and so on. Write a report on your findings. Make recommendations how this company can improve their IT and IS.
Before you go to speak with the organisation make sure you know what you are looking for - conduct some background research into the IT and IS used by that organisation.
It is assumed that some research will be required, e.g. interviews, reading books, journals etc. All quotes and sources used should be referenced and a bibliography of the material you have consulted is to be included. Your work must be professionally presented.
Task 1 (LO 1,2)
Investigate the current use of IT and IS within the chosen organisation. Summarise your findings.
Task 2 (LO 2,3)
Make recommendations on how the organisation can improve their use of IT and IS. If there is an update or upgrade required, explain your reasons. Explain how the company will benefit from the update/upgrade.
