Long term benefits or outcomes of taking the meds

Assignment task:

Tell me a response that refutes this post: After reading the text, watching the videos, and doing my own research, I realize there are many reasoning why people do not adhere to taking their medications. Some of the major reasons are not foreseeing the long term benefits or outcomes of taking the meds, complex med regimens, med costs, side effects, and the relationship between the patient and prescriber. Medical Non-adherence is both physiologically, and psychologically influenced. Although the comedy video was a bit sarcastic, it was informative. I thought the ending where the guy explained how people are more motivated by short term rewards rather than long term rewards. Some steps that I think can be taken to decrease medical non-adherence is requesting the patient to get blood work soon after starting a med or changing the dose. This can make the patient be more diligent about taking their med since they know they will be getting blood work, they might be motivated to take their meds to see a positive change in their lab results. Another way, is to enhance the patient and prescriber relationship. From the text, we know patients are more likely to listen to advice from prescribers
