This week we talked about romance sub-genres and listened to the NPR Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast.
First, answer the following questions about the podcast:
1. One of the people's names speaking during the podcast should sound familiar. Who was it, and what have we read by her?
2. What is one sub-genre you learned about that you didn't know existed? Did they give an example of a book in that sub-genre? (Hint: if you don't remember all the book names, go back to the link I originally posted for the podcast, and all the books they mentioned in the podcast are listed on the page).
3. What is the most ridiculous sub-genre (in your opinion) they mentioned?
Second, come up with your own sub-genre. Just for fun, try to think of a sub-genre romance novel (it can be serious, silly, or whatever you want). Then, make up a novel for that genre. Tell me the title, the characters, and the story line (briefly - approx 100-200 words).
