Studio Project Instructions:
In Dawn’s Wedding Chapel IV, Louise Nevelson focused on light and shadow by using three-dimensional wooden objects painted in one color. Because Nevelson did not have much money when she first started constructing her assemblages, she utilized discarded word objects.

Louise Nevelson:
Create your own assemblage sculpture. Use a shallow box made of wood or cardboard. Make sure to find objects to fit inside. First decide on placement for a good composition. Use glue or another good adhesive to secure the objects into the box. After it is dry (as an option, but not a requirement) you can paint the entire assemblage one color (Louise Nevelson often used black). Spray paint works well but make sure you have good ventilation. It is recommended to spray and let dry outdoors.
Please post a substantive response to the prompt.
Respond to at least two of your classmates’ original posts to engage in a discussion of ideas, information, and viewpoints that continues throughout the discussion week.
