Question 2:

Managing Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), is the task and duty of the employer. The employer must show strong leadership and commitment to OSH activities in the organisation and make appropriate arrangements for the establishment of OSH management system. There are five key elements which should be considered in the setting up of health and safety management system.

Illustrate and describe how each of these steps should be carried out.

(i) Determine the hazards pertaining to this operation and state who may be harmed and how?

(ii) Compute the risk level for each hazard (based on a three-point scale).

(iii) Recommend proper control measures for this operation.

(b) List all ten principles of sensible risk assessment.
