Justify problem identification and problem-solving research in details. Are these two categories of researches related?
Answer
Problem identification research is undertaken to identify problems which are perhaps not apparent on surface and yet exist or are likely to exist in future. Conversely, problem-solving research is undertaken to arrive at a solution to an existing problem.
Problem-solving research and Problem identification research complement each other as once an opportunity or problem has been identified, problem-solving research can be undertaken. In the same way, once a problem solving research has been carried out, a research might new problems emerging out of results and may require problem identification research.
