It is important to include your department in the enterprise architecture. Your department is key in supporting the new infrastructure and you're support will have a direct impact on the support of the business. You're department is the first point of contact for our employees. As we move through the development stages of EA we are going to build standardized IT structures. Your department will be able to make quicker and better decisions and solve unexpected problems. This in turn will show IT cost savings and to ensure reliable operations.

Changing our processes in the IT department and re-structuring the service desk by understanding the processes to "create repeatable IT processes for smooth flow for operational tasks, clear lines of project accountability for effective delivery, and consistent standards for current and emerging technologies. (Anupindi, 2008) "
We will be making changes in how the service desk will be handling calls. When a call comes in and the problem is greater than basic IT troubleshooting, the help desk person will create work order to document the problem and then assign it to the proper IT unit to care for this individual. This will speed up the help desk processes so they can handle more customers.
