It appears that Richard is very unorganized. It takes him, what seems like forever, to accomplish the simplest task of making his wife a piece of toast. His utensil drawer is a mess and he cannot find a serrated knife or a butter knife because they are all mixed up, he cannot find a clean plate so he had to clean a plate from the day before, the butter is still not thawed, and finally he cannot find the peanut butter. If he was organized just a little bit, the process would of taken infinitely less time. If he had a way of storing his utensils in a drawer with separators he could look and immediately find what he needs. Finally, while the toast was being made he just stood around and did not multi-task. He could of been thawing out the butter, getting the knives that he needed to butter the toast or washing the plate that needed cleaning. I know this was a funny take on process improvement but it shows in an exaggerated way that a little planning and organization can go a long way.
