Issues in public health and emergency planning

Assignment task:

This course was a delight to have. I was very curious from the beginning about issues in public health and emergency planning. Homeland security is something I have always been interested in and I want to delve deeper into the homeland security field and this course opened my eyes to a lot of things that I have been missing. There were a lot of compelling topics in this course, but I would say the most compelling topics to me were the comparative analysis on Hurricane Katrina and disasters I chose and the CBRN assignment. The reasons why the first one was compelling because I was able to conduct my own research and do a comparative analysis on two disasters that I chose and I liked the CBRN one because my job in the Army is a CBRN specialist so I know how the military responds and what needs to be done when it comes to military response but I hadn't thought about how the civilian sector responds to CBRN threats, so it was a great learning opportunity for myself. Research in tis course, more so opened my eyes to the different types of threats that our out there and how public health is something that gets forgotten by many people. My research topic is going to be on domestic terrorism and hate crimes against the Sikh population and I hadn't even though about public health issues besides focusing on PTSD and trauma that victims will face. Now I can delve deeper. Usually, in other classes, participations in discussion boards with my other classmates allows me to either just let them know that they did a good job or tell them what they missed and I usually can' t have a full on discussion with each of the classmates because everyone posts once and then goes onto the next assignment but having a discussion board in this class was very beneficial. I honestly liked the one on one, professor and student, I feel like I learned a lot, I was able to think more critically as the course progressed and I feel like I gained a lot more knowledge. I do not believe there are any approaches that could have yielded additional valuable information except that the school probably needs to be go over their coursework and curriculum because there was one assignment that had articles that needed to be researched and that article was no longer valid and there was also another class where the rubric was wrong. So just a review of the curriculum could be better. rewrite this in a scholarly way
