Assignment task:
You are the principal of a Cabinetry Shop that produces Kitchen Cabinetry. You have received a full drawing set (CDs) (Floor Plan, Reflected Ceiling Plan, Interior Elevations and Section Details, etc.) including shop drawings from an Interior Designer employed by a Speculative Builder. The Speculative Builder is planning a 20-unit project of which one unit (Unit 1) is nearing completion, excepting for the installation of finished woodwork and cabinetry. You can visit the unit and take accurate measurements. Your production shop is experiencing a slowdown. You are feeling real pressure to supply work for your employees. This project is viewed as a substantial opportunity to respond to your employees* needs. Since all of the 20 Units will have identical kitchen layouts you should go ahead and produce the 20 sets of cabinetry (you have the requisite storage capabilities), keep your employees working, and then deliver and install when each of the 20 Units is ready for the cabinetry install.
1. Is this sound reasoning and planning?
2. What should be the plan?
3. Yes or No to produce 20 cabinets ahead of time?
