The setting for "The Iliad" is towards the end of the Trojan War, a war that lasted 10 years. The battles and feats of individual warriors are described in great detail, as well as the effects of war on a human and personal level (the scene with Hector with his wife and son, and Priam begging Achilles for Hector's body, as examples). Is this a story that celebrates war? Or not? (There is no one 'right' answer, by the way.) What do you think? And why?
