Problem:
You are a school food service director and a large food distribution company, that you do not currently use, has invited you to a food expo in city about 2 hours away. They will cover the cost registration ($100), two nights at a hotel ($350) along with an evening dinner and networking event at the hotel one of the evenings (estimated cost $100). All that is required of you is to drive to the event location and attend these events. During the final day of the conference, the food distribution company will showcase their products to you. Do you go? Why or why not? Is this a conflict of interest, if so, which type?
