Is really driving an environment of inclusiveness


One of the topics that I feel most passionate about is Diversity, because Diversity is what has made this country what it is today. I have worked for several organizations where some manage diversity and the efforts well where others play favorites as to which diversity they should be observing. As some of you may know, June is Gay Pride month in all around the US as they coincide with the Stonewall riots. There are organizations publicly and privately traded which celebrate the month together with African American History Month, Cinco De Mayo, etc. However, other organizations yield to go with subjects that are less controversial (unlike Sexual Orientation) and as such are selective on their diversity efforts. Is this fair? Is this really driving an environment of inclusiveness?
