Problem 1: Is eradicating a vector insect species like mosquitoes is a good idea? Why/why not? What unintended consequences could be problematic?
Problem 2: What about simply modifying the mosquitoes so that they cannot carry the disease-causing organisms? What about releasing a self-spreading genetic construct like a gene-drive system into a wild population, good plan? Why/why not?
