Introduction to asian history and culture- what ideas and

Assignment: Introduction to Asian History and Culture

Question:

The Man Awakened From Dreams explores the experiences of one ordinary man during the revolutionary transition from Qing imperial rule to a Republican revolution, the Chinese civil war, and the Japanese invasion during the era of the Second World War. What ideas and values were most important in shaping how Liu Dapeng thought about himself and the society he lived in? How did these ideas and values shape how Liu Dapeng experienced and understood the enormous changes in his life and in Chinese society?

Formal Guidelines:

The paper should be 5 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins. No title, cover page, or bibliography are necessary, and please do not restate the question at the top of the paper.

When citing from the book, which you should do, please do not use conventional footnotes. Instead, simply place the page number for the passage you are quoting in parentheses. The page number should come from the original pagination and not the page number in the course pack.

Example: As Henrietta Harrisonwrote,"real humanity in historical accounts is all too often restricted to great leaders, famous writers, or original thinkers".

Please note that the parentheses come after the quotation, but before the punctuation mark ending the sentence or the phrase (comma, semicolon, colon, period, etc.).
