Problem:
Intercultural communication differences: reconciliating disparities by the recognition
You represent a Mauritian hardware company which is negotiating to purchase hardware from a manufacturer in Korea. In your first meeting, you make it clear that your company proposes to follow closely the production and quality of product.
The manufacturer’s representative softly voices out, “perhaps which will be difficult”. However, you urge for agreement and to demonstrate your enthusiasm to purchase, you produce the prepared contract that you have brought with you. Contrary to your expectations, the manufacturer doesn’t display any interest in deal.
Required:
Question 1: Illustrate out the disparities that exist in the cultures of countries across world.
Question 2: Write down the means to overcome intercultural communication barriers?
Question 3: What strategies would you have employed to deal and establish fruitful communication with your Japanese counterpart?
