Solution-focused counseling allows counselors to address ambivalence in a nonlinear way. As such, counselor's can work with an ambivalent client to address the problem from a strength-based perspective. Counselor's can demonstrate curiosity about what may have previously worked then apply learned information to the current situation combating ambivalence.
Please refer to our course text book and complete the clinical case example Call for Attention on pages 326-327. Follow the prompts at the end of the case example by answering the six questions in a one to two page, APA compliant, paper. Students will also have the option of completing a 10-15 minute media recording detailing their response.
