In your own words explain the box model and the difference

1: In your own words, explain the box model and the difference between the "padding" and "margin" properties.

2: What is the benefit of using a fixed-width layout in web design? What are some cons?

3: Discuss a web page that uses one or more lists. List the web page's link. Identify which type of list is currently being used. Imagine that this is your company's web page and your manager wants you to select a different type of list for this content. To what type of list would you change it? What would you need to change about the content for the new type to be effective for the list's purpose?

4: I'm a huge blogger, and a huge fan of the television show Once Upon a Time. I do not want to be offensive in criticizing anyone's work because I know from my own stand point on how long it takes to design something, how long it takes to maintain a blog, and sometimes paying someone to do a tumblr layout can bite the big one especially if you have to pay a huge price for it. First of all I chose this Captain Swan blog. Captain Swan is a ship, or a canon couple from the show Once Upon a Time. I edit for a lot of people that love this show. Anyhow, I came upon this blog and I love the blog and the layout but there is some things she could do to enhance the blog. First of all I would take the Christmas layout off of it and go with something more flavorful such as something more Captain Swan maintained. I would then add a navigation system besides the one they have there on the right. Those would be just a few that they could use to enhance their site and make it more navigating.

5: It's important to organize folders for a website because you may not be the only one maintaining the site. Each folder should be easy to find and use so that whoever is using it will have no problem. Before you start designing a website you should give a lot of thought to the organization of the files and folders of your website. For my folder structure I would use the following folders like CSS, img, JS(JavaScript), and robots. relative links are more flexible because the entire directory structure can be moved to another domain without breaking all the links.

An absolute link would look like this Home.

A relative link will look like this:

Home.

6: The business website that I selected to use in my discussion is https://www.gatesnfences.com/. I have seen some bad designs in the past, but this one by far is the worst. The page layout is awful, some of the text on the page is to small to read, information is scattered throughout the whole page, and the images aren't as clear as they should be. I recommend that the images are changed to JPG, GIF, or PNG for a clearer picture. Another big problem I saw was the web pages loaded with information to read, there were paragraphs after paragraphs. I counted navigation 65 tabs on the side bar alone! Then add in all the links through out the page, it was definitely an overwhelming page. With so many pages in the site, the information should be spread around to all the different products and services they offer and not crammed in on one page. Every link that I clicked was connected to several other links which made it difficult for me to find what I was looking for, and eventually I ended up leaving the site. The navigation was just as bad as the page layout, I left the site because I became confused as soon as I entered the site. I recommend that majority of the information should be deleted, and summed up into small paragraphs with important information that the users need to know.
