SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) is a traditional analytical tool. A VRIO framework is a more modern tool that suggests that only resources and capabilities that are valuable, rare, inimitable, and organizationally embedded will generate sustainable competitive advantage. In what situations would be it be most valuable to use one tool over the other when it comes to global business? Why do you feel that way?
