In this assignment you are required to review the New Zealand Health Strategy 2016 and explore the significance of this report on health promotion in New Zealand.
The goal of the New Zealand Health Strategy is for "All New Zealanders live well, stay well, get well, in a system that is people-powered, provides services closer to home, is designed for value and high performance, and works as one team in a smart system" (New Zealand Heath strategy, 2016, pg. 13).
With this assessment, you are expected to;
- Explore the information presented in the New Zealand Health Strategy 2016.
- Consider how the principles of health promotion relate to the New Zealand Health Strategy goals.
- Investigate initiatives that relate to each of the issues described in the Five strategic themes (which are presented on page 15 of The New Zealand Health Strategy, 2016).
- Discuss how these initiatives could be applied to address issues relating to ONE of the priority area of concern identified in the New Zealand Health Strategy (i.e. Maori Health; Pacific Health; Health of Older People; Mental Health and Addiction; Living Well with Diabetes).
- Support your argument with relevant literature.
