In Tennant Co. v. Advance Machine Co., 355 N.W. 2d 720 (Ct. App. Minn. 1984), the court held that:
1 No company should expect its trash to be protected as property
2 No company should put bona fide confidential records in its company dumpsters
3 All dumpsters used by companies are protected from the eyes of others
4 That trash in the company’s dumpster remains its property until the trash has lost its identity and meaning by becoming part of a large conglomeration of trash elsewhere.
