In serving such hot coffee, did McDonald's act in a morally responsible way? What ideals, obligations, and effects should it have taken into consideration?
I believe that McDonald's acted in a morally responsible way. However, I do not believe that the restaurant chain should be held responsible for Stella Lieback's negligence in spilling the coffee on herself.
Was Liebeck only 20 percent responsible for her injuries?Do you agree with the amount of compensatory and punitive damages that the jury awarded her?
If not, what would have been a fairer monetary award? I believe that Lieback being twenty percent responsible for her injuries was sufficient.
Due to the nature of her injuries, I do agree with the amount of compensatory and punitive damages that she was awarded.
